April 13, 2005
In 1991, the Flight Standards Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Division, Washington, D.C., developed a program to encourage Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) employees and employers to participate aggressively in available initial and recurrent maintenance training. In recognition of completion, the Federal Aviation Administration issues awards to those individuals, and their employers, who receive or foster initial and recurrent training.
On March 12, 2005 Air Angels, Inc. and its entire Maintenance Department were issued seven AMT Awards for participation in this program. These Awards include one AMT Employee Diamond Award; four AMT Employee Ruby Awards; one Employer "Certificate of Excellence", and one Employer "Diamond Award of Excellence". Michael S. Dermont, President and CEO commented, "I am extremely proud of our maintenance personnel and their accomplishments. These Awards (Diamond and Ruby) represent the highest levels of achievement and exemplify the hard work and dedication put forth each day by everyone associated with Air Angels."
Air Angels, Inc. was founded in September 1998 as the first community-based program in Illinois. Air Angels, Inc. provides critical care air and ground transportation services to healthcare facilities and pre-hospital agencies throughout Illinois and Indiana.
